I was fortunate to attend the first Scotswrite conference facilitated by the Society of Authors. (SOA) The venue is a familiar one for me as the Westerwood hotel is also the venue for the Scottish Association of Writers (SAW) annual Conference.
The programme was varied and interesting with a great variety to suit every taste. It was interesting to note that many of the delegates travelled from outside of Scotland to attend. Amongst those that I spoke to were novice writers, un-published, published and non-writers such as literary agents , publishers and literary consultants.
The full Scotswrite2017 programme can be seen here.
I was particularly interested in the sessions that were not directly concerned with the craft of writing, just for the change of pace. These included early morning Tai Chi, The Ergonomic workspace, Finding your inner Ikigai mental health for writers, CPR training and the Botanist Gin tasting.
