Okay so I bought tickets for Wet Wet Wet’s concert at Glasgow Hydro. My sister lurvs Marti Pellow and his cheeky boy smile . Ideal Christmas present thinks me. Its been 30 years since the band launched their musical career and each member has had their troubles to bear.
So the night arrives Sat 12 March. Sister not well. Try and fill the seat at short notice but all contacted friends/family have other stuff arranged, so my daughter’s friend (who was also going to concert treats her hubbie to a sneaky night out. He is a closet fan.
He was worried it might be all women in the audience. No need. There were loads of men including a fair few groups who could have been on a stag night?
Lots semi drunken folks swaying and swooning. I didn’t know many of the songs ( I am a generation ahead) but joined in where I could. It was like a giant karaoke night. The audience belting out word for word old songs and new.
Marti was a total gem and owned that stage. The other “Wets” were true professionals and totally changed my perception of the group especially when they performed with acoustic guitars.
